The user experience of the Kase Reflex Lens 200mm
I am busy with spring all year round. Every year, when spring arrives, I am always on the go, visiting various scenic spots with blooming flowers.
For regular flower photography, I mainly use the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. However, after using it for a long time, it inevitably started to feel monotonous—until I came across the term "Reflex lens," which reignited my interest in flower photography.
I received the Kase 200mm f/5.6 Reflex lens, and that marked the beginning of my new photographic journey. The lens is predominantly black, with a striking red Kase logo that immediately catches the eye—its design is stunning. The lens is very lightweight, making it easy to carry, but despite its lightness, it doesn't compromise on build quality. This is a 200mm focal length lens with an f/5.6 aperture, and it features manual focus.
With continued use of the lens, I found that its chromatic aberration control is excellent, producing sharp images with impressive color reproduction. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 2 meters, but when used with close-up accessories, the focusing distance can be reduced even further, expanding the creative possibilities and allowing for more diverse subjects.
Since the Kase 200mm f/5.6 reflex lens is manual focus, I prefer to use a tripod for stability and adjust the framing by moving the camera. To achieve more precise focus, I magnify the image on the camera's screen, which makes focusing easier and more accurate. I also use the camera's timer function to avoid any shake when pressing the shutter button.
When using this lens for photography, strong natural light is necessary. In situations where the background consists of point light sources, it’s easy to create a "bokeh donut" effect, with the out-of-focus areas transitioning smoothly and naturally.
In addition to the background creating the donut bokeh effect, we can also use foreground elements to achieve the same result. By strategically blocking parts of the foreground, it can also produce a similar "donut" effect in the bokeh, adding another layer of creativity to the composition.
In summary, the Kase 200mm f/5.6 reflex lens is lightweight, delivers excellent image quality, and provides accurate color reproduction. It is truly an outstanding reverse lens.
The following are sample images taken with the Kase 200mm f/5.6 reflex lens.
Many thanks again to Kase for their strong support. I also wish Kase continued success and the development of even more outstanding products in the future.
